This Privacy Policy explains how Omen ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Omen: Tarot app ("App") on your Apple device.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
Tarot questions and readings. Any question you type and the AI-generated interpretation are stored locally on your device and synced to your personal iCloud account. When you request a reading, your question and selected cards are transmitted to our API, which forwards them to our AI interpretation provider to generate your result.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
Device Identifier
We generate a random UUID on first launch and store it in your device's Keychain. This identifier is used solely to authenticate your requests to our AI interpretation API. It is not linked to your name, email address, or Apple ID, and it cannot be used to identify you across apps or services.
Client-Side Usage Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) to collect anonymised information about how you interact with the App — such as which spreads you use, how often you open the App, and which features you engage with. This data helps us improve the App. Firebase Analytics collects device type, operating system version, app version, and general usage events. It does not collect your name, email, or the content of your readings.
Server-Side Usage Analytics
We use PostHog to collect anonymised server-side analytics when you request a reading. This includes your device UUID, spread type, subscription status (free or premium), response latency, and AI token usage. This data is used to monitor API performance, detect abuse, and estimate operational costs. It does not include the content of your questions or your readings.
Crash Reports
We use Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) to automatically collect crash reports when the App encounters an error. These reports include the state of the App at the time of the crash, device model, and OS version. They do not include the content of your readings or any personally identifiable information.
Advertising Data
The free tier of the App shows rewarded video advertisements served by Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Before personalised ads are shown, we request your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. If you decline, only non-personalised ads are shown. If you subscribe to Omen Premium, ads are suppressed entirely and no advertising data is collected.
1.3 Information Collected by Apple
Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple via StoreKit. We do not receive your payment details. Your iCloud account is used to sync your reading history and preferences across your devices — this data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

4. Data Retention
- Readings and preferences are stored on your device and in your iCloud account. You can delete them at any time by deleting the App or clearing iCloud data in your device settings.
- Analytics and crash data are retained by Google in accordance with their data retention policies (typically 14 months for Analytics).
- Your device UUID persists in your device's Keychain until you uninstall the App.
5. Children's Privacy
The App is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App does not include chat features, user accounts, or any mechanism for children to submit personal data.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the data held about you
- Request deletion of your data
- Opt out of analytics data collection (use iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, or delete the App)
- Withdraw ATT consent at any time via iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking

7. International Transfers
Firebase and AdMob are operated by Google LLC, headquartered in the United States. Mistral AI is operated by Mistral AI SAS, headquartered in France. PostHog analytics data is processed within the European Union. By using the App, you acknowledge that your anonymised usage data and the content of your reading requests may be transferred to and processed in the United States, the European Union, or other countries where these providers operate data centres.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. For material changes, we will provide notice through the App or App Store release notes.
